Votes needed! Carlyle, Port Jeff, Capt. Bill's, or Thatched Cottage?

All very different places I know but I haven't been able to weed any out so..... What are your pics and in what order? Thanks.

I've never been to any of those places, but my parents went to a wedding at the Carlyle recently and they thought it was so great; a very classy place. I love the idea that it's on the golf course too. Sorry that I'm not that much help.

I won't be that much help either, but I went to a retirement party at the Thatched Cottage and it was really nice. The food was good.

Sunny, can i ask you what time of year that party was? Did you get to hang out outside? Did you like the ambiance?

Carlyle...since the 2002 Open - you can't go wrong...but you pay more too

I vote for Captain Bills! Reasonable price, Excellent food! JMO

Go for the Carlyle

I just had my Jan 2003 wedding at the Carlyle and it was amazing. I had the ceremony there as well. Everything was perfect- so classy. The cocktail hour was amazing- I am still getting rave reviews about the mashed potato bar!

The food @ the reception was great- I cannot say enough about the bridal attendant, Maitre'd & staff.. I have no regrets & it was worth every penny.

Sorry I've never been to those, however I was planning on visiting Carlyle and Thatched Cottage. A friend on mine got married in Jan at the Thatched Cottage and loved it! Could you tell me if they offer an outdoor reception? I'd appreciate the help!

My wedding was at the Carlyle this past June. Everything was perfect. The staff is attentive (not just to you, but to all your guests!), the food is amazing (taste, presentation, and amount), and the rooms and grounds are just gorgeous.

I haven't been to the others, so I couldn't rank them for you -- but I think that they are quite different choices. More often people who chose the Carlyle were looking at Carltun and Harrison House.

I would definitely go with Carlyle or Thatched Cottage...these two are the most elegant IMO!

I like the Carlyle out of all the places you mentioned. I also looked at Carlyle. I ended up at the North Ritz Club. It has the same atmosphere as the Carlyle but is more affortable. Good Luck

Dino, Thatched is an ADORABLE place. It is so charming and quaint. And yes, they do utilize the outdoor area in the summer and when weather permits. That is what attracted me to the place. I love the water. You should check it out in a couple of weeks when the weather gets nicer and flowers start blooming etc.
