The Nest magazine

Has anyone received this and your thoughts please - figured it makes for great discussion.

My opinion: opened it and said "WHO THE F READS THIS CRAP?," seriously it has no real content except a few articles that one sentence can be useful.

My favs:
Married to a metrosexual? seriously they listed metrosexual hygiene products how freaky is that.

in-law proof your home? I am sorry do I really care what ANYONE says about my apartment - as long as it is clean and yea we do hide the porn why should you write tips on hiding your stuff.

No time for good sex? Yea your married welcome to not having the time, not in the mood, not in sync etc - I needed a article to inform me of such things.

OUR THE BEST!!! Just moved - do i care you moved into a house that is less then half the going rate of the average home in NY? Do I CARE that you have 6 bedrooms and live in a Victorian mini mansion in Texas - NOOOOOOOOOOOO!

Now the good parts: Recipes (very quick and easy stuff for the crunches we all have), the money talk - stuff about finances that outside of a couple disagreeing about spending on a mani vs a new video game, wine/steak/food descriptions and pairings (this is always useful) - but 75% of this mag is crap in my mind.

I'm with you on that one! That whole, 'look at my brand new house in Kentucky/Texas/etc. that cost less than $200K' drives me nuts too!

I already know how RIDICULOUS the house prices in NY are...

I didn't get the new one yet. The last issue I had some pretty good decorating ideas though.

Re: The Nest magazine

OK so this is awesome to know...
I TOTALLY freakin got a subscription to this like a JACK@SS! I had NO IDEA it had any connection to the Knot... I received a free issue that had a GREAT decorating section [or so I thought] and rather than actually READING it all, I just searched for the article and then subscribed... I received a few issues that I havent even picked up yet... They await my presence in the guest bathroom basket which i never go into... Sooooooooo... Into the fireplace they'll go in Dec

Re: The Nest magazine

I keep getting them and I KNOW I didn't subscribe (and I don't think anyone signed me up either). Maybe they just send them to you in the hopes you'll keep the subscription.

Some of the design stuff is good, though looking at the article in this new one about the Fox WH Corr and his sweet loft in Georgetown makes me bitter that we can't afford to own here!!!

I get them, too. The last 2 I got were great, but the one I got this week I didn't like at all.
