Down to 12 RHs, and a vent.

I orginally came on this website and I was like "I want to get married there and there and there etc." So now FH and I are down to 12 offical places. It's still rediculos but we plan to see them all in the next couple weeks!

My mom is a generally miserable person and feels the need to remind me every day that I am only and LPN (even though i'll be an RN before our wedding) and James will NEVER find a phys ed job and we will be poor and miserable, on top of the fact that 24 is too young to be married. My dad & siblings are thrilled for us so I appreciate that. My mom also thinks that James's parents are horrible because they aren't contributing any money towards our wedding. She has called them tacky etc. Meanwhile her family, whom I am not close with and don't even want at my wedding but im forced to invite, has not said as much as congrats. Everybody in James's family has sent us cards (some with checks!) even his neighbors sent us cards. Ugh this is just a bridal vent!

I know it is hard because she is your mom, but try your hardest to ignore it the best you can. This is your time! You only have this planning stage once. Don't let her ruin it for you. I know it can be difficult but i would try to sit her down and tell her that she is not making this a positive/ happy experience for you and hopefully she will change her attitude. I know and my dad is really supportive so I try not to let her ruin it for us. I just wish I didn't need to invite her miserable family.

First, don't worry about the 12 places, we narrowed it down to 12 as well to look at. It goes by fast.

Second, family is always rough. Just keep telling yourself this is your day and no one will take it away from me!

The Cottage is amazing!!! and the prices and great, try to get their ASAP because their prices are going up I think in the middle of September. Good Luck

if you and FH want to get married, then do it, you are old enough to not need your mothers opinions.....my fh's family and my family DO NOT get along, and i must be crazy for having a wedding with them both having to be there, but they can deal with it and suck it up for a few hours.

i am a firm believer of doing what is best for yourself. if you try to make every single person happy with a situation you are going to drive yourself crazy & thats how nervous break downs occur. your best bet is to limit the wedding talk around everyone. i only talk wedding with my sister & FH. i only talk RH stuff over with my parents since they are paying. anyone else whom asks me about the wedding, i just simply say all we know is that its in 2010 & thats where i end the conversation.
