Church Flowers/Decor

Everyone keeps telling me not to do/spend alot on flowers and decoration for the church because we are not going to be there that long. I know, I know BUT isn't the whole day about that actual moment when you are exchanging promises and pronounced man and wife? I want it to be a very romantic and special setting. I am only doing this once. I'm not talking about going absolutely crazy but I want to drape all the pews in white organza with either satin bows or hydrangea, petals on the aisle and 2 candelabras on either side of the alter. Is this too much?

Re: Church Flowers/Decor

IMO it may be a bit too much. You would be fine with the organza and the petals on the ground.

But, beware most churches don't allow things that they will have to clean up afterwards.

I agree with this and I think most guests' eyes are on you not the pew decorations anyway. so I went simple with pew bows from Michael's with a coupon, box of 12. Then bought flower sprays, cut them and mixed colors and tied them to the bows.
I think it was enough.

Re: Church Flowers/Decor

I personally LOVE a decorated church, and I think what you described is NOT too much, especially if that's what YOU like...I say go for it!!

Re: Church Flowers/Decor

We are not doing anything for the Church since we are not doing the full mass... we are just doing the ceremony !!!!!!
So for me to spend $$$ for the Church and then also give a donation to the Church ... it will be a bit too much .... That is JMO !!!!!!!!!!

I think the first picture is beautiful and if I had the money I would do something like that. I am just doing 3 rows of pew bows with roses attached to them and two high arrangements at the altar. I totally agree with you about the church being decorated as it is the most important place you will be in that day(IMO). If you love it and have the money go for it

I think it will look beautiful! And I think it will also cost a lot of money. Did you talk to you florist about pricing this yet?

I really do love it and I think it looks beautiful.

Re: Church Flowers/Decor

find out what your church will allow first, but if you've got the money, why not?
