1st yr anniv gift
What did you guys by your husbands on your 1st Anniversary?
Ours is rapidly approaching but we'll be at someone else's wedding so we can't go away like we had wanted to. 
I'd still like to get him something but I can't think of what!!

Since paper is the "traditional" 1st anniversary gift, I ordered him a custom calendar from shutterfly, each month has a different pic of me. They even let you put in custom dates, so I put in our birthdays, wedding anniversary and first date anniversary.
Other paper gifts I've heard of are gift certificates, scrapbooks, pictures...google it and I'm sure you'll find lots of ideas.

I guess I went with the "paper theme' of it lol...... I got him Tickets to CrueFest- Motley Crue is his all time Fav- we see them this fri and then on our actual date He got me tickets to Little Mermaid on broadway and we will go for a nice romantic dinner as well So we both made out pretty good cause we like both gifts hahahah

So far I got my hubby a card, a book that has words of wisdom from couples who have been married for at least 50 years, and a Harley Davidson ornament. The ornament is a joke b/c DH wants to get a motorcycle and I told him "NO WAY!"  My STB Godson will be getting baptized on our Anniversary, otherwise we were gonna go away. We are going to go out to a nice dinner too. Hmmm... I still need to get him something else.

I am having a hard time with the paper part.  Hoped a card would do just fine b/c we are already spending our ann.in the city for the wknd.
He said he is giving me Mula for a new computer so that takes care of his 'paper' gift.

underwear and socks??? hahah he didn't want anything and was being stubborn and he kept saying he wanted new underwear.. i ended up spending 70 bucks just on 3 packs of underwear and 3 packs of socks (3, 3 packs of each) i also got him a treasure type box that says family tree that you put memories in.. haven't decided what to put in there though. maybe i'll make him a calendar

Ok UPDATE:
I did the paper thing.. and put ALOT Of thought into my card. I took a pic from our wedding photos and made it into the front of the card and wrote a well thought out personalized poem starting each sentence with the words

you get the idea He was soo touched that it pays to sometimes just do something that comese from the heart
