Going puppy shopping tomorrow...
Anyone know of good shelters. Our first stop is North Shore Animal league.

Little Shelter in Huntington is amazing... probably THE best shelter out there. Bideawee is also a great no kill shelter but they lack of dogs alot. north shore bothers me in the sense that they take all of the homeless puppies out there and don't really take in the older dogs.. there are other reasons too but of course they're much better than puppy stores. I'd really hit the town shelters because they are kill shelters and practice euthanasia often. You'll really be saving a life there!! plus they have fantastic dogs for the most part.

I would look at the town of hempstead, little shelter, Town of Oyster bay has a shelter on the LIE service road. And I believer there is a smaller shelter right down the block from the North shore one u are going to def shceck them out since u are right there!!!
I adopted my little guy off of Craigslist. He is now 3 years old and just the sweetest.... HE is a maltese
